Callaway ambassadors and golf personalities Amanda Balionis and Hank Haney dropped by Monarch Beach Golf Links to put together an informative and entertaining video covering the many virtues of playing golf at one of Southern California’s best golf courses. Haney assumed the role of on-course commentator as he toured the Robert Trent Jones Jr-designed layout. Overall, he cited the golf experiences as “a tacticians’ dream” starting with the signature hole: the short par-4, 4th. This seaside beauty gives golfers the option to “go for broke off the tee” by cutting the dogleg left, but those who blow it through the fairway will literally find the beach. Haney went on to describe the 7th hole as the “No. 1 handicap hole for good reason” that starts out with a “demanding drive over a wide creek.” From there the “split fairway gives you a choice” of playing the second shot back over the barranca for the best angle of attack to the green for the third. Or golfers can slap it farther up the right side and play a wedge over the junk. Although Haney mentioned golfers are challenged to think their way around the golf course at Monarch Beach Golf Links, on the 542-yard par-5 12th hole, he shifted gears to point out that the “driving area is wide and inviting, allowing you to turn your driver loose.” The diverse nature of the golf experience added to the unique beachside Southern California location near the bluffs of Dana Point makes for a complete and rewarding golf and lifestyle experience. “It is clear that this golf course is spectacular,” said Balionis. And it’s also clear that the accompanying services and amenities elevate the overall golf experience to include: rolling up to a convenient valet drop off upon arrival; swinging top-of-the-line Callaway rental clubs; shopping in the pro shop; surfing the turf on a Golfboard; honing the game with on-course lessons from the Academy at Monarch Beach Golf Links; hosting a group-golf outing or corporate event; and counting up the scores over a post-round cold beer alongside classic American fare in Club 19. As Balionis summed it up – “Simply put, if you love golf, you’re going to love it here at Monarch Beach” Well said Amanda!
